Methodology
The NBCSI methodology defined below provides guidance
to NBCSI as it works to accomplish its overall mission and objectives.
Key to the success of all NBCSI initiatives is the ability to conduct
research and analysis, assemble key stakeholders as partners to
work at a national and local level and to implement initiatives
and determine the impact of program policies and legislation on
African American communities.
Process
Step 1: Identify an
issue that fits within the framework of NBCSI
Step 2: Write proposal
Step 3: Seek and secure
Funding sources
Step 4: Identify and
outreach to Black State Legislators actively working on the issue
Step 5: Identify other
stakeholders (non-elected officials) to participate on Task Force
Step 6: Form and convene
the National Legislative Task Force and develop a national and local
plan
Step 7: Convene a series
of meeting in the TF members district
Step 8: Assimilate
data & Analyze Result
Step 9: Information
brought to National Task Force for Analysis
Step10: Report findings
through a white paper on impact on community public policy Write
a White Paper
Step 11: Task Force
shares recommendations with NBCSL and other policymakers on a national
level (Publications, Press Releases, Symposium, Annual Report)
Step 12: Expand effort
to additional states
